The Battery Manufacturing Team leader leads the production team in all day-to-day operations. In this role you will conduct daily stand-up meetings and represent the team as needed in cross-functional stand-ups. You will be the first to respond to problems and challenges on the production line, and will help the team solve those problems using your own knowledge and input from engineers and test technicians.

The Team Leader is responsible for quality, safety, on time delivery, continuous improvement, hiring, performance management, and programs such as FOD (foreign object debris) management and 6S. As the team lead you will meet with every team member on a regular basis to discuss their development, performance, personal and team challenges, to coach team members on career development, and to solicit feedback on your performance and the work environment generally.

How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:

  • Lead daily team meetings
  • Help to guide the team to make good decisions with limited resources
  • Meet regularly with team members to encourage growth and address challenges
  • Hire and make staffing decision for the production team
  • Manage staff schedule to ensure due dates are met and training opportunities are provided
  • Coach team members on performance and career development
  • Assist in problem-solving on production and R&D parts and assemblies
  • Use ERP system to track production KPIs, track and move material, schedule work, solve problems
  • Provide first response to any and all challenges on the production line
  • Help team members to manage their time, including time spent on manufacturing-related projects
  • Identify challenges, suggest and help implement solutions
  • Manage programs like FOD (foreign object debris) awareness and 6S
  • Minimum Qualifications:

  • Five years of manufacturing, at least one year of manufacturing leadership preferred
  • Experience using 6S
  • Ability to diagnose and solve complex problems using all available tools and assistance
  • Interest and ability to learn new skills and subject matter to stay ahead of new challenges, designs, and processes
  • Understanding of different manufacturing processes
  • Ability to lead a team of production technicians
  • Ability to quickly pivot and to make good decisions to help meet challenging deadlines
  • Ability to suggest and implement creative solutions to novel problems
  • Above and Beyond Qualifications that will distinguish you:

  • Three years or more of leadership in manufacturing
  • Experience creating or administering a 6S program
  • Experience in battery manufacturing, Aviation industry or a similar field
  • Experience configuring and working with an Enterprise Resource Planning System such as PLEX
  • Experience with high-voltage systems
  • Experience in an R&D or startup manufacturing environment
  • Experience with CAD
  • Experience with 3D printing
  • Experience designing or managing the design and development of tools, jigs, and fixtures
  • Experience developing or writing work instructions
  • Experience with digital work instructions
  • Experience with smart digital tools
  • Physical Demands and Work Environment
