Careers

We are builders and pilots, flying what we build. Continually growing our hands-on, multi-disciplinary team and seeking applications from motivated people with a unique approach to solving challenges and driving innovation.

Who is BETA?

A team of misfits, tinkerers, builders, makers, breakers, pilots, engineers, technicians, artists, chefs, and people from all backgrounds—driven by curiosity, passion, and a shared mission to change the aerospace industry.

At our core

Impactful work

Every person at BETA is building toward a more sustainable future—whether it's flying missions, designing high-voltage systems, or laying carbon fiber.

Built for Builders

We design, build, test, and fly. The pace is fast, and the work is hands-on. Every day brings new challenges to solve, ideas to try, and opportunities to turn concepts into reality.

People-First Culture

Our people-first culture is built on having a creative vision without ego. We recognize the unique talents of those around us and welcome all people. Managing chaos with sincerity and kindness—and we work hard while doing it.

Life in Vermont

Based in Burlington, we’re surrounded by mountains, lakes, and a strong local community. It’s a good place to live and an even better place to build.

Mission

Design a self-sufficient eVTOL aircraft ecosystem that satisfies the needs of humans, embraces the laws of nature and works in harmony with the planet.

Vision

Simplified and amplified access to the vertical dimension of mobility.

Building a
Community

In school, BETA's founders were told that to find good jobs, they'd have to leave Vermont. Kyle and Katie Clark – who both grew up in Essex, VT – are dedicated to creating meaningful opportunities and growing careers right here in Vermont.

Our Passion

BETA team members collaborate, empathize, and connect through these shared passions:

  • Aviation
  • Sustainability
  • Technology

Sharing at least two of these passions enables team members to connect with others and contribute to our mission to electrify aviation.

Benefits

BETA Health Clinic

BETA Health, our on-site clinic through Marathon Health, offers convenient, high-quality care right at work. From routine checkups to condition management and wellness support, services are confidential, accessible, and designed to help the team feel their best.

Comprehensive Health Insurance Options

Choose the coverage that fits you and your family best. We offer two medical plan options: a High Deductible Health Plan with company-matched HSA contributions, or an Open Access Plan with lower deductibles and more predictable costs. Both include Vision and Dental coverage at no additional cost.

Short-term Disability, Long-term Disability, Basic Employee Life Insurance

Our short- and long-term disability coverage provides financial support. If you're unable to work due to illness or injury, this benefit helps ensure a steady income so you can focus on recovery.

Flexible Time Off

Make it a fair trade between you and the business. Show up, do great work, and meet your commitments. In return, take the time you need to recharge, stay healthy, and care for yourself. When you’re at your best, everyone benefits–your team, the mission, and most importantly, you.

Flight Training

We fly what we build. Through our in-house flight program, every team member has the opportunity to get flight training and ground school. With access to our company-owned fleet and support from on-staff Certified Flight Instructors—many of whom help design and build ALIA—you can work toward a pilot’s license or simply experience flight firsthand.

Lunch

Our food program features a thoughtfully prepared meal each day, made with fresh, local ingredients (and no added sugar). There are always options to accommodate dietary needs, and the focus is on clean, healthy fuel to keep us energized. Just as important, lunch gives us a daily chance to step away, sit down together, and reconnect as a team. Some of the best ideas happen over lunch!

Family

Family is at the heart of why we’re here. Balancing family life with a demanding work schedule isn’t easy, so we’ve built in spaces where it counts. Our wellness rooms are equipped with changing tables, mini-fridges, and cozy seating for quiet moments or caregiving needs. And when life throws a snow day your way, we’ve got a little space where kids can color, play with wooden toys, and just be kids while you get through your day.

Furry friends!

We encourage team members to bring their (well-behaved) dogs (or donkeys!) to the office. Dogs make the day better—for everyone. Their tail wags, curious noses, and unconditional affection bring joy, reduce stress, and help us all stay a little more grounded. Dogs remind us to take breaks, move around, and connect with each other as humans. Be sure to check out Whiskey, our loyal hangar dog and first official canine BETA employee. And we offer health insurance for your four legged friends, too.

Students

We’re committed to inspiring the next generation of builders and pilots. If you’re a high school or college student interested in aviation, technology, or hands-on STEM experiences, BETA has opportunities for you.

Our Summer Internship Program gives college students the chance to work on real projects across the company, with many interns moving into full-time roles after graduation.

For high school students, our Job Shadow Experience is a four-day summer program that explores careers in aviation and STEM—all while working alongside our team building the future.
