The Security Compliance Officer will manage security compliance company-wide and act as Beta’s Facility Security Officer (FSO). This role will be responsible for implementing an enterprise facility security program and ensuring Government, company and customer security requirements are met. The successful candidate will interface with all levels of Beta personnel and Government management personnel to ensure contract security compliance with National Industrial Security Operating Manual (NISPOM), DoD Manual 5205.07, Contract Security Classification Specification (DD254) and Program Classification Guides. The position requires a self-motivated candidate who is capable of working in both independent and team environments with minimal direction. The candidate will be required to set up new processes, conduct security self-inspections, apply risk mitigation methodologies, support customer assessments, and implement security measures to meet requirements. The Security Compliance Officer may also serve as an Insider Threat Program Senior Official (ITPSO).

How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:

  • Set up and administer day-to-day security programs: personnel processing, badging and visitor processes, program reviews, document control system, audits & self-inspections, violation investigations & reports, receipt/dispatch/destruction/mail logs, clearance management (FCL and PCLs), etc.
  • Project management of enterprise compliance obligations, working cross-functionally to ensure requirements are met throughout the business
  • Establish and manage procedures to gather, identify, assess and report on relevant and credible information across the facility that may indicate a potential or actual insider threat and mitigate associated risks
  • Fulfill all required training and reporting requirements for role and facility security
  • Create and provide trainings on relevant requirements, policies and process. Provide clear guidance to company employees, and recommend modifications to operations policies or procedures as appropriate
  • Monitor and interpret company and government security policies and regulations and apply them to operations
  • Monitor and manage the marking and control of CUI/CDI and classified information
  • Investigate security incidents and prepare comprehensive reports for matters including infractions, violations, adverse information, and any activities which affect the security posture of the facility and its assigned personnel
  • Work closely with and present to company senior management and Directors 
  • Coordinate and collaborate with key stakeholders both in and outside of the security organization including senior level program managers, executives, U.S. Government, subcontractors, and external customers
  • Conduct and create reports on self-assessments, support internal and third party auditsMeticulous record keeping to support compliance requirements
  • Understanding of export compliance and related compliance issues
  • Other related duties within the scope of Security Compliance, FSO, ITPSO responsibilities
  • Minimum Qualifications We Are Seeking:

  • In person position for South Burlington, VT office
  • FSO certification with minimum 2 years of experience as an FSO
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and establish an effective security awareness, training, and education program
  • Thorough working knowledge of the NISPOM, other relevant DoD security guidance as well as the Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) standards
  • Strong communications skills, both oral and written
  • Experience and understanding of the fundamentals of 32 CFR Part 177 NISPOM Rule
  • Superior organization and project management skillsStrong computer aptitude, which includes expertise with Microsoft and G-Suites and other digital technology including US Government portals and databases
  • Accuracy and high attention to detail
  • Active and transferable U.S. Government issued secret level security clearance is required prior to start date
  • US Citizenship
  • Ability to travel to company locations regularly
  • Above and Beyond Qualifications that will distinguish you:

  • Experience in aerospace or similar complex manufacturing industry preferred
  • US Government contract experience
  • Experience with various forms of USG mitigation requirements
