If you typically have 450 gallons of usable fuel and burn 150 gallons per hour, you can fly for 3 hours. With electricity — if you have 450 kilowatt-hours of usable energy and are using 150 kilowatts, you can fly for 3 hours.

 

System

The energy storage system that powers the aircraft is composed of multiple battery packs connected together in parallel through a distribution system designed to provide safety and redundancy for all power requirements.

Validated Against Aircraft Standards

BETA’s battery facility allows our team to test above and beyond regulatory safety requirements. We put our families in our aircraft, and we ensure pack safety to the highest standards.

  • Majority of DO-160G testing performed onsite — including temperature, vibration and humidity.
  • Abuse testing including cell, module, and pack TR test bunkers with dedicated air scrubbers
  • Thermal Management System (TMS) testing onsite
  • Subpack crash testing onsite

Our 40,000-square-foot test facility gives BETA in-house, state-of-the-art test capability for nearly all certification credit testing and the tools that will allow us to verify future aircraft designs that vary in size and power.
