Flight Control Computer

Built to the highest standards of reliability and performance,
BETA’s innovative flight control computer (FCC) serves as the
nerve center of a modern aircraft — and is ready for integration
into a variety of aircraft platforms.

Validation Through Flight

Proven on our CX300 aircraft and ready to be customized for yours, our flight control computer (FCC) has a mean time between failure (MTBF) of roughly 20,000 hours and is capable of being implemented on Part 25 applications. Our flight control computer is more than just control laws — it consolidates pilot inputs, digital communication, and control logic in a small form factor box for efficient installation on an aircraft. Our completely fly-by-wire (FBW) system is future-proofed with autonomy applications in mind.

Inside the Box

Our FCC provides a compact solution to FBW flight controls, measuring inputs through rotary variable differential transformer (RVDT) sensors, computing control laws, and digitally transmitting commands to actuators. The hardware and software aspects of the FCC are designed using aerospace industry-standard processes and technologies for high reliability and functional safety.
  • Implementation in redundant architectures to allow required availability and integrity
  • Highly accurate RVDT interfaces for accepting pilot inputs without needing calibration
  • Capability for complex and model-driven flight laws that optimize handling qualities
  • Low processing latencies to meet the needs of attitude stability control loops for AAM vehicles
  • Seamless integration with standard avionics, battery management, aircraft monitoring, and power distribution systems
  • Designed and manufactured to the highest safety standards including environmental qualification to DO-160G and systems / hardware development per ARP4754 and DO-254

Simplicity in Flight Controls

BETA has refined decades of aerospace engineering expertise into an elegant flight control paradigm ready to fly. The FCC is the foundation of our fly-by-wire (FBW) architecture — a system that optimizes flight and enhances handling qualities while reducing pilot workload.

BETA’s team of pilots, engineers and technicians have brought expertise from civil, military and commercial aviation to design a flight control system that is simple to build and intuitive to fly.
