BETA completed 14 flights covering nearly 700 nautical miles across the Orlando and Tampa regions under Florida's eVTOL Integration Pilot Program (eIPP). Led by the Florida Department of Transportation, the project brings BETA together with Republic Airways, Brickyard Connection, and Metro Aviation to evaluate electric aircraft in real-world operations.
BETA's all-electric ALIA CTOL flew routes from St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport (KPIE) and Albert Whitted Airport (KSPG) to Tampa International Airport (KTPA). The St. Petersburg–Tampa flights followed the route of the world's first scheduled commercial airline flight, flown by Tony Jannus in 1914.
Florida is home to BETA's largest U.S. charging network, with nine charge sites online from the Panhandle to the Space Coast. Earlier in 2026, the aircraft and charging network supported operations with Republic Airways along the I-4 corridor, completing up to nine flights a day at less than $17 in energy per flight. That operating experience provides a foundation for evaluating how lower-cost electric flights can serve regional routes using existing airports.
