Gulf Coast operations

BETA joined the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, Bristow Group, Metro Aviation, Houma-Terrebonne Airport, and other partners on August 27, 2026, to kickoff the LIFTOff Louisiana eIPP project and show how Avanced Air Mobility (AAM) will provide increased connectivity for critical Gulf operations. Louisiana’s energy industry relies heavily on aviation to move people and supplies between shore bases and offshore facilities. Houma is a critical hub for Bristow and one of the country’s busiest airports for commercial helicopter operations, an essential operating environment to evaluate new AAM aircraft alongside the fleets already serving the region.

Following the kickoff, BETA, in partnership with Bristow, conducted a full flight campaign along the Gulf Coast, flying between Houma-Terrebonne Airport (KHUM), Lafayette Regional Airport (KLFT), and Lake Charles Regional Airport (KLCH) to demonstrate future commercial routes that could support critical onshore energy logistics. BETA will build on these missions in future flight campaigns, expanding to other parts of the state to highlight the opportunity to use AAM to support rural medical access alongside Metro Aviation.
